2022 Ed Hart Memorial Service Award Winner
We are thrilled to announce that the winner of our 2022 Ed Hart Memorial Service Award winner is...Officer Nick Lambert
Prior to becoming a Huber Heights Police Officer, Officer Nick Lambert was in the Active Duty Air Force, was deployed twice to Iraq, and worked for the Miami County Sheriffs Department. Officer Lambert has been a Huber Heights Police Officer since January of 2009, and started as a Road Patrol Officer. He became the Huber Heights Police Chaplain, was on Honor Guard, a Field Training Officer (FTO), Officer In Charge (OIC), and was a School Resource Officer (SRO) for 6 school years.
More recently Officer Lambert has taken the position as the Public Affairs Officer for the Huber Heights Police Division and has initiated several events and classes for the city including-National Night Out, several Coffee with a Cop events at different locations around the city, Coney with a Cops events at Skyline Chili, Law and Order Event at Texas Roadhouse, Safety Town, Role Model Reading Program at the Huber Heights Library, Reading Events at the Huber Heights Police Division, Princess and Police Event, Citizen Police Academy, Citizen Patrol Academy, and a Crime Prevention Academy. Along with those he attends most city events and makes frequent visits to all Huber Heights City Schools.
Officer Lambert also serves as the Director of the Miami Valley Crime Prevention Association (MVCPA), is the Huber Heights Police Explorer Advisor, the Advisor for the Citizens Patrol, is very involved in the Big Brothers Big Sisters and is a mentor for the program. He is a leader at his church, has a Construction Technology degree and a Criminal Justice Bachelors Degree from Park University.
Officer Lambert has a strong desire to improve positive interactions between police officers and their communities. He recently wrote a children’s book titled “A Fun Week at the Police Department” that was just released on Kickstarter.
