City of Huber Heights Mayoral Proclamation – Essential Businesses

The City of Huber Heights and Mayor Jeff Gore presented to the Huber Heights Chamber of Commerce a Mayoral Proclamation on Monday January 11th, proclaiming that all businesses and jobs related to them are considered Essential. Executive Director Mark R. Bruns accepted the Proclamation virtually on Monday evening at the January 2021 Council Meeting. The Proclamation states that Mayor Jeff Gore declares all businesses and jobs in the City of Huber Heights as essential during the current State of Emergency declared by the Governor of the State of Ohio.

The proclamation goes on to say that the City of Huber Heights recognizes the Federal Government, the Governor of the State of Ohio, the Ohio Legislature, and the Ohio Department of Health have certain authorities that supersede that of the City regarding business closures and restrictions under the State of Emergency and in other situations: therefore, nothing in this proclamation supersedes those Orders, decrees and legislation and all businesses and residents remain compelled to follow such Orders, decrees and legislation until lifted by the imposing authority.

The Huber Heights City Council supports and advises all residents and businesses to continue following all CDC guidelines and medical advice for precautionary measures to help reduce the spread of disease including social distancing, wearing masks, and regular cleaning and sanitizing.

Executive Director Mark R. Bruns accepted the Proclamation and thanked Mayor Gore and Council for their concern and support of the business community.
