DID YOU KNOW
July 1, 2010

On June 8 the Huber Heights Chamber of Commerce, Wayne High School Athletic Department and Huber Heights Athletic Foundation hosted the first annual Community Appreciation Dinner. Jay Minton thanked everyone for all the donations and community support WHS Athletics receives through out the year. WHS Athletics are a success because of the students, parents, teachers, coaches and the Huber Heights community.

Local Chamber members, residents and community volunteers enjoyed a FREE spaghetti dinner provided by HHCS Nutrition Services. Our guest speakers included the Honorable Ron Fisher, Superintendent William Kirby, Athletic Director Jay Minton, Chamber Director Anita Brock, WHS Graduate Marcus Freeman and WHS Graduate Michele Da Costa. Marcus and Michelle both spoke about the importance of community and all the positive aspects of growing up in Huber Heights that have helped each of them over the years. It was really nice to see the student athletes from WHS who gave up their evening to serve dinner.
