Business and Development

The City of Huber Heights is strategically located in the Miami Valley Region just a few minutes away from Wright Patterson Air Force Base, the I-70 and I-75 interchange, and I-675. In addition, there are three interchanges off I-70 all within city limits.

Huber Heights businesses draw from both the Dayton and Springfield employee market pool offering well-educated and trained prospective employees. We are home to over 800 businesses.

The Huber Heights commercial areas have seen continued growth with major retailers such as Kroger, Gander Mountain, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Elder Beerman, Lowe’s, Wal-Mart Super Store, Meijer, Kohl’s, Sherwin Williams Paints, Hobby Lobby and Bed Bath and Beyond just to name a few, call Huber Heights home.   Our newest shopping center, Northpark Center offers numerous shops with the Elder-Beerman Department Store and Kohl’s Department Store being the anchor establishments and includes Katie’s Hallmark, Famous Footwear and Marshalls.  Over 60 restaurants located throughout the community offer American, Italian, Chinese, Thai and Mexican cuisine.

Street improvements, including the widening along Old Troy Pike (State Route 202) and Brandt Pike (State Route 201) and the updated interchanges with I-70 at those two major intersections have opened up the commercial areas and have made it easier for residents and visitors to patronize the businesses.  Our City Engineer and Street Departments are working constantly to maintain the surface of the major thoroughfares and side streets within the city limits.

Along with our residential and commercial development, our industrial areas have also seen consistent growth and development.  The Center Point 70 Commerce Park, containing 20+ businesses and employing over 1,600 people, has experienced tremendous growth.  In 1999 the city extended Executive Boulevard and is part of the Interstate 70 Business Park expansion that has opened over 195 acres of prime industrial land for development.  Additionally, Studebaker, Bridgewater and Taybridge industrial areas offer more opportunities for sustained industrial growth.

Over 850 local businesses draw from our own 40,000 hardworking residents and 150,000 more within a 5 mile radius.  Our major industries include ABF Freight System, Inc. Apache Technologies, Dayton Freight, LaserMike , AIDA/DTC, Bowser Morner, Coca-Cola, Enginetics, Fukuvi USA, Hughes-Peters, Metokote and Trimble Navigation.

Huber Heights and the Dayton Regions’ industry strengths are more diverse than almost anywhere in the nation.  Located just 8 minutes away is Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, the nation’s #1 military high-tech research and development and procurement hub and Ohio’s largest single site employer.  Here, high- tech manufacturing and distribution figure prominently in our local economy.  Overall, the Dayton Region’s primary industries are: advanced tooling & machining, composites, high-tech manufacturing, research & development, aviation/aerospace, distribution and plastics.

For more information on our local workplaces please contact the Huber Heights Chamber of Commerce at 4756 Fishburg Road, (937) 233-5700.
